Divine Hollow Trail
Anekal
Overview
The trail to this quarry lake is fairly easy, except a few small steep sections and loose sharp rock. But still graded this as easy because it very short.
And I like how close to Bangalore this spot is.
BTW this is NOT Chhota Ladakh!

The lake π
The lake is about 120 m by 50 m, so that's about 5 times the size of an olympic pool.
This looks like a relatively new quarry lake. So there will be sharp rocks in the water.
I usually still swim in such water but with extra caution β οΈ. I keep my footwear (sandals) on while getting in and sometimes check the water for an unexpected sharp rock below with a long stick or with my feet while treading very gently. [I don't recommend anyone except experienced swimmers to get into new quarry lakes. At least not until someone experienced has checked what's under the water or with a life jacket.]
I visited this place recently (18 Feb 2025) and in the evening, so did not get a change to swim. But planning to swim there soon with the approaching summer in mind. [Let me know if you're planning to go too.]
The only accessible shore will be in the sun by late morning, but will start being in the shade by afternoon.
The spot is very quiet and peaceful.
π¦οΈ Season
Any season should be fine. The lake would have water all year round.
ποΈ Permit
No permits needed. But if you go in the evenings be wary of running into occasional drunkards in the early part of the trail.
πΎ Wildlife
Nothing to worry about. You'll most see some ποΈ birds around.
Getting there
Very straightforward to get here. Just follow the Google Maps directions to the trailhead/parking spot.
Cleanliness
Mostly clean, except for a bit of waste thrown by alcohol drinkers near the beginning of the trail.
Crowd
No crowd
Exploration notes
- I think one can very easity circumnavigate the lake very quickly.
- I am planning to do so. Firstly, just for the fun of it. And secondly, to find a nice shaded spot to come and chill in the morning.
