What

We are going on a hike to this pond next to a hill in a Ramangara. It's an easy hike!

The easy variation is about 3.36 km of mellow trail. The main hill stands to our right with forest on the other side, ending at a pond where we'll rest and eat under a shaded tree.

But for those of you who want a bit of challenge we will explore a hill nearby and the surrounding forest dotted with seasonal streams. โ›ˆ๏ธ But if it rains we stay off the steep rocky sections and stick to the easy path.

We will hike in this area with several trails (take a look at these three trails: main hilltop, pond & neighbouring hill)

Itinerary

  • 6:00 AM: Start from Bengaluru
  • 7:00 AM: Breakfast stop on the way
  • 8:15 AM: We'll start hiking
  • 9:30 AM: We'll reach the pond, and swim/spend time near it
  • 2:00 PM: Have lunch; eat food/beverages we've carried
  • 4:00 PM: Reach the trailhead, and we'll start heading back to Bengaluru

You will reach home depending on where you stay in Bengaluru, traffic and the vehicle you're in.

  • Transport (we carpool and share fuel + toll costs though)

Transport

  • We either carpool or use public transport (train or bus)
  • If carpooling we share fuel + toll costs to the person getting their car

Public Transport

  • Some of us will go by train (if there aren't enough cars)
  • So from SBC to RMGM
  • Any super fast train in the morning. Here are a few. We will try to catch the earliest.

  • We get the tickets from the vending machines on the left just before we enter the station
  • From RMGM station we take an auto to the trailhead. That's about 15 minutes away.

What to wear

  • ๐Ÿ‘• Comfortable t-shirt

What to carry

  • ๐Ÿฅ› 2-3 liters of water in reusable water bottles
  • ๐Ÿฒ Carry snacks/food you'd to eat for lunch
  • ๐Ÿง‚ Electrolytes (ORS/Fast&Up/Salt+Lemon)
