What
Did you know about dolmens? They're prehistoric burial sites, dating back to the Paleolithic period. You might find the Mallachandram or Moral Pari Dolmens particularly interesting. These ancient structures are about 3,500 years old, according to the Archaeological Survey of India. If you visit, you'll see around 200 dolmens spread across two hillocks in three clusters.
Also, something that might intrigue you: local tribals call these sites homes of dwarves. You might find it fascinating to compare this to the discovery of Homo Floresiensis in Indonesia. If you're interested in human history, you'll appreciate how these dolmens offer insights into migration patterns out of Africa's Rift Valley.
Unfortunately, these valuable archaeological sites face threats from vandalism, trophy hunters, and gold diggers. Preserving these ancient structures is crucial for understanding our prehistoric past and protecting our cultural heritage.
