My friend, Akash MS, a speed hike record holder on Savanadurga is leading a hike this Saturday!
Easy beginner-friendly hike near Magadi (https://maps.app.goo.gl/iqfeYHanyxKZPWAx8)
The starting location is a 10 minute drive from Magadi town. (So please check how far Magadi is from your location & add 10 minutes to the driving time)
Hiking distance: 3.8 km in total (including lake shore)
This hike takes you to the top of a rocky hill with a cave system (you will spend some time in the cave; observing the life inside it). This hill is also next to a beautiful lake.
Check the photos to get an idea of where you are going. https://photos.app.goo.gl/wA79mjrV2GbAtpV29
Logistics:
Start at 5:30 am from Bangalore Or reach Magadi town by 7:15 am
Meeting point in Magadi. Shree Krishna vaibhava
Plan to start hiking by 7:30 am. And start heading back by 12 pm (noon). (Estimate to enter the city ~2:30 pm & from there on it all depends on the traffic in the city)
It will be great if you are driving a car, we encourage folks to carpool (will of course share the fuel costs). Please mention number of empty spots in your car.
The last few hundred meters of the village road is unmetalled, so drive your car carefully in this section.
